Is it alright to take 150mg of Gravol? I took 100mg and it didn't help.

Gravol, known in the United States as Dramamine (dimenhydrinate), is an antihistamine that is used to prevent and treat the nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or vertigo associated with motion sickness.
In terms of dosing, it is recommended to initially take 50 mg by mouth 30 minutes to 1 hour before starting the activity known to cause motion sickness. After the initial dose, take 50 to 100 mg by mouth every 4 to 6 hours as needed. The maximum single dose is 100 mg and the maximum daily dose is 400 mg per day.
It is not recommended to take over 100 mg as a single dose. Gravol is a very sedating antihistamine and doses over 100 mg can increase the chance of adverse reactions including sedation, lethargy, blurred vision, dryness of the mouth/eyes and tightening of the chest.
If the maximum single dose isn't working, I recommend speaking to your doctor regarding possible alternative medications for motion sickness as there are many options. Possible alternatives include:
- Sea Band
- Meclizine (Dramamine Less Drowsy)
- Bonine
- Scopolamine (Prescription Ear Patch)
- Promethazine
